TASTING NOTES

2011 vintage
Superb presentation.
Deep purple red dress without progress note.
Vinous nose, powerful, concentrated notes of black fruit, mocha and white pepper.
Very nice wide mouth, generous, dense tannins, tight, powerful.
Long and concentrated finish.
A very nice wine for aging.

2010 vintage
Very beautiful presentation.
Dress deep red garnet, purple border. Fresh nose, vinous, concentrated notes of black fruits, spices, eucalyptus. Rich palate, sweet, powerful and fresh with tight tannins.
Long and generous finish. A great wine to keep in a vintage exceptional.

2009 vintage
Visual aspect : superb, showing a deep, crimson colour and no sign of development.
Nose : vinous, concentrated aromas, it exudes scents of stewed black fruit, cashew nuts, cinnamon and brioche.
Palate : ample and full of flavour on a structure of powerful, promising tannin. The finish is full-bodied, showing good ageing potential.
Comment : this is a magnificent, fine laying-down wine to discover in 3 to 5 years.

2008 vintage
It has a wonderful, bold garnet-red colour and dark purple tinge on the disc. Fruity aromas are predominant, mingling with hints of young stave wood, vanilla and fresh spices. It is powerful, rich and tannic on the palate; mineral and long on the finish. This is a magnificent laying-down wine to discover in a few years’ time.

2007 vintage
A beautiful and extremely vivid crimson hue, it shows no signs of development. The nose develops on powerful, intense aromas: bilberry, mocha, vanilla and spices. Expressive on the palate, warm and delicious, it is structured by stylish, but elegant tannins. The finish is fresh and fruity. This is an excellent wine to discover in 3 to 5 years’ time.

2006 vintage
It shows a splendid, marvellously bold cherry-red hue and an amber-coloured disc. The bouquet is forming at present, developing on aromas of peppery red fruits, thyme and bay-laurel. Round and pleasant on the palate, it has charming tannins and pleasantly incorporated woodiness. This wine could be poured in 2 to 3 years’ time.

2005 vintage
A splendid Bordeaux colour with blackish tinges, it shows no signs of development. The aromas are powerful, vinous and warm with scents of jammy black fruit, black pepper and orange zest. It is a dense, tightly-knit and concentrated wine which gives a long, spicy finish. A magnificent laying-down wine to be discovered in 3 to 5 years’ time; it possesses tremendous ageing potential.

2004 vintage
With a marvellous deep garnet-red hue and a light amber-coloured disc, it exudes jammy fragrances of small red fruit, fresh mint and mocha. Crisp and fruity on the palate, with a delicate texture, the tannins are tightly-knit but of excellent quality. The finish is full of flavour and extremely stylish. This is a wine to fully enjoy in 3 to 4 years’ time.

2003 vintage
With a lovely, vivid cherry-red colour, an amber-hued disc, the nose is rich, complex and smooth on smoky scents of Virginia tobacco, cashew and crème brûlée. Surprisingly fresh and lively for a very warm vintage, its soft, spicy tannins are extremely charming. This 2003 is a lovely wine to enjoy now or keep for 2 to 5 years.

2002 vintage
A beautiful vivid cherry-red hue and an amber tinge on the disc. The nose is expressive, revealing smoky, spicy hints and an aroma of preserved cherry. This is a delicate, elegant wine, whose tannins are still perceptible on the finish. It can be enjoyed now, but has marvellous ageing potential.

2001 vintage
It has a marvellous deep garnet-red colour, an amber-hue to the disc and nose of superb richness and complexity, revealing scents of spicy black fruit, liquorice and truffle. On the palate, the first taste is supple and delicious, with powerful, but pleasantly melted tannins and full-bodied, round fleshiness with almost sweet flavours. The long, generous finish reveals the tremendous elegance of this wine. An absolute must for any wine cellar. It can be poured now or aged for another 5 to 10 years.

2000 vintage
It shows a beautiful deep brick-red hue and reveals an intense range of aromas, with a fruity fragrance of black cherry and fresh, balsamic hints. Still very powerful on the palate, it is warm with an excellent structure of tannins which will delight those who love wines with strong character. It is ready to pour now or can be aged for 2 to 5 years more.

1999 vintage
It has a marvellous, deep red-brick colour. Rich and complex on the nose with balsamic hints, mingled with scents of cedar, pine resin and liquorice. It is full-bodied and generous on the palate with mature, plump tannins. The finish is long and spicy. Ready to pour now, this vintage has excellent ageing potential.

1998 vintage
It has a lovely, rich brick-red hue. It exudes fresh, mentholated aromas along with scents of liquorice and truffle. On the palate, it is mineral and crisp, revealing tannins of character. The finish is long and fruity. A magnificent wine to be enjoyed now, but it also has excellent ageing potential.
