TASTING NOTES

2010 vintage
Beautiful presentation. Dress deep red garnet, light amber border.
Nice fruity nose with hints mocha, coffee, vanilla cream and spices.
Long, spicy finish. A nice wine for aging.

2009 vintage
Visual aspect : a lovely, vivid garnet-red colour and a light-amber hue on the edge of the disc.
Nose : fresh and expressive aromas on scents of stewed fruit, menthol and fresh spices.
Palate : round and smooth with tannins that are still a little tightly-knit, requiring 2 to 3 years of ageing for the wine to give optimum pleasure.
Comment : a lovely wine, with average ageing potential.

2008 vintage
With a magnificent garnet-red hue, it also shows a dark purple tinge on the disc. The nose is fresh and fruity on aromas of red fruits and white pepper. It is full-bodied and powerful on the palate, but tastes very mature nevertheless. This is an excellent laying-down wine to discover in a few years’ time.

2007 vintage
It shows a superb, deep cherry-red hue and a dark-purple tinge on the disc. Fresh, fruity aromas are accompanied by a touch of menthol and pepper. Supple and round on the palate, with excellent structure on the finish. This wine should be aged for 2 to 3 more years.

2006 vintage
With a superb, deep, radiant red hue, it shows no signs of development. Fresh and fruity on the nose, it exudes aromas of small red fruits, mint and a touch of cedar. Robust, with good structure, it possesses excellent balance between acidity and tannin. The finish is long and flavoursome. This is a lovely wine full of character to discover in 2 to 3 years’ time.

2005 vintage
It shows a beautiful, deep garnet red colour and a light amber-hued tinge on the disc. Vinous and rich, it reveals scents of very ripe black fruit and some floral fragrances. A rich, generous and concentrated wine, it is fleshy with powerful, but velvety-smooth tannins. Long and spicy on the finish, this is an excellent laying-down wine. Enjoy all its marvellous qualities in 2 to 3 years’ time.

2004 vintage
A vivid cherry-red colour and a delicate amber-hued disc; the nose reveals pure, fruity, menthol aromas and a hint of liquorice. Light and smooth on the palate, it is delicately fruity. A wine for pleasure, it can be enjoyed now or aged for 1 to 3 years.

2003 vintage
It presents a beautiful, vivid brick-red colour. Rich in aromas, it seems smooth on fragrances of stone-fruit and stewed fruit, chocolate and tea. A rich, unctuous wine, it is vinous with tannins which are still rather tightly-knit on the finish. This 2003 is a powerful wine to savour now, but has lovely ageing potential too.

2002 vintage
The vividness and brightness of its colour is astonishing. It reveals excellent freshness and seems surprisingly, pleasantly young due to its sheen and opulence. A really magnificent wine! It is ready to pour now or can be kept to age for 1 to 3 more years.

2001 vintage
With a beautifully bold cherry-red colour, it shows a brick-red tint on the disc. Powerful aromas, it exudes hints of leather, veraison and black pepper. Fresh and still lively, it reveals crisp, clearly perceptible tannin. This wine should be aged for 2 to 4 more years.

2000 vintage
It has a lovely, dark cherry-red hue with a brick-red tinge to the disc. It is vinous and very expressive on scents of Virginia tobacco and balsamic hints. It is full-bodied and generous on the palate with plump, fleshy tannins. It can be poured now or aged for 1 to 3 more years.

1999 vintage
A deep, pure colour, with an amber tinge on the disc, this 1999 is very aromatic. Good length on the palate, extremely elegant and charming. A pleasant wine, it has marvellous freshness and richness; it is excellently mature. Ready to pour now.

1998 vintage
It shows a deep brick-red colour. Powerful aromas of dried fig are combined with scents of lime blossom and gingerbread. Supple, round and elegant on the palate, it reveals a rather tropical flavour on the finish. It is ready to pour now.
